In Pictures: Gaza Strip under Israeli attack
Over the past 48 hours, the Israeli army has escalated their aerial and ground attacks against the Gaza Strip. At least five Palestinians, including children, have been killed, and more than 30 others, including 6 women and 12 children, have been wounded.
Four of these deaths and 38 of the injuries, some of them serious, resulted from an Israeli attack in the residential neighborhood of al-Shoja’iya, east of Gaza City, which occurred on Sunday.

Five Severed Heads Found Outside School; Courtesy of Mexican Drug Cartels
Mexican police have found five severed heads stuffed in a sack outside a primary school in the Pacific coast resort of Acapulco.
The gruesome discovery comes after drugs gangs threatened to attack elementary school teachers if they did not pay half their wages to the drugs cartels.
The extortion demands forced around 130 schools in the city to close earlier this month, after administrators and parents decided it was not safe enough to start classes.
Police say the five heads were positioned next to a handwritten message threatening three alleged drug traffickers and Guerrero State Governor Angel Aguirre, who had promised a series of measures to combat the criminal gangs.
The message, in an apparently sarcastic tone, told people to thank the governor for continuing ‘this war’.
The heads all appear to be of men. But some of the five headless bodies found elsewhere in the city the previous day were too badly burned to immediately determine their gender.
The horrific discovery comes just days after police found a woman’s decapitated body in the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo, alongside a handwritten sign saying she was killed in retaliation for her postings on a social networking site.
Late last month, as the new school year began, dozens of teachers in Acapulco said drugs gangs had threatened them with violence if they did not hand over half their salaries from October 1.
Ugh.
Tw: mention of suicide, violence, etc.
Actually the Brazilian government is forcing them to leave their sacred homeland which belongs to them and not the Brazilian government. I don’t know the thought process that went behind this, but mass suicide is apparently the only option left if they can’t stay on their homeland alive.
So this is not the fault of the Guarani-kaiowa, but of the Brazilian government who is trying to drive them out of the only home they have left.
You can’t possibly know what’s best for the Guarani-kaiowa better than the Guarani-kaiowa. You haven’t lived their experiences and you don’t know their situation. When you think that you know what’s wise for the Guarani-kaiowa better than the Guarani-kaiowa, you’re implying that you believe you’re superior to them, and the belief that white people are superior to people of color is the core belief of white supremacy.
Congratulations, you have successfully looked at my picture and determined that I’m white, and you seem to think that that has any bearing on my decisions. And you’re right, it really sucks that the Brazilian government is kicking them off their land, but if they’re going to commit suicide over it, then that’s a bit much and it’s really stupid.
It would be like committing suicide if you get evicted from your apartment. It’s completely insane and I have no sympathy with you if you do it, even if you’ve lived there your whole life, even if your entire family has lived there since the 1800s, it’s dumb.
Wow. Did you fucking know that sacred land = apartment??
I sure didn’t.
Nobody gives two shits that you’re an athiest. Good for fucking you. Oh my fucking god. Can you either SHUT THE ENTIRE FUCK UP or go fling yourself from the top of the nearest tall building?!
You are the vilest piece of shit I’ve had the misfortune of coming across in quite some time. You aren’t worth shit. I wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire. You’re not even human.
FUCK YOU

Tw: mention of murder, violence, etc.
You know, sometimes I feel like I’d be okay smashing in a few faces. Like oh my god.
A black Louisiana woman was set on fire by 3 white men wearing white hoods. The men spray painted “KKK” on her vehicle. Please share this story!
Authorities are on the scene at Civitan Park in Winnsboro where it is believed a young woman was attacked Sunday evening.
Sharmeka Moffitt called 911 about 8 p.m. and told police she was attacked and burned by three men wearing hoodies, authorities said during a news conference today. Police say the Moffitt, 20, could not confirm the identity of the suspects.

I went to my aunt’s house for dinner last night. We got on the topic of alcohol and drinking. (Tw: alcohol, violence, etc.)
My aunt (my dad’s sister) and my mother have the same birthday. They’re the same age too. They were good friends in high school and my aunt has tons of stories about my mom that I’ve never even heard. Do I want to know them all? Probably not.
We were talking about being drunk and I told her that my mom had said that certain drinks make her want to fight. My aunt was like, “I’ve seen your mother punch through a wall.”
So yeah, my mother has apparently punched through a wall. I wouldn’t doubt it. Lol She has a quick temper.
I never told y’all about the time I broke my right arm. (Tw: violence - just in case)
I’ve broken both of my arms, but the story behind breaking my right one is really embarrassing.
I was in 7th grade, so I was roughly 12/13.
My mother worked night shifts at Walmart at the time. She called us when she got off work to make sure we were up and whatnot to get ready for school. She usually got home around 7:25ish or something like that.
My brother and I got into a fight that morning after 7 sometime. He hit me and I went to hit him back. I was aiming for his head, but he blocked my arm with his arm. My arm like cracked over his arm and we heard the bone break and my arm like bent over his. It was so gross.
So then of course he was upset about it and I was in pain. My mother got home and was like, “What the hell!?” She took me to the doctor to get it checked and of course it was broken. Lol
That’s the story of how I broke my right arm. I have very small arms, so it was unwise for me to do that. Haha

In fifth grade I learned the mythology that he had wooden teeth, but had a fine porcelain set.
And now… there is this.
(via hamburgerjack)
“…1784, Washington paid several unnamed “Negroes,” presumably Mount Vernon slaves, 122 shillings for nine teeth, slightly less than one-third the going rate advertised in the papers, “on acct. of the French Dentis [sic} Doctr. Lemay [sic],” almost certainly Le Moyer. Over the next four years, the dentist was a frequent and apparently favorite guest on the plantation…Washington probably underwent the transplant procedure—“I confess I have been staggered in my belief in the efficacy of transplantion,” he told Richard Varick, his friend and wartime clerk, in 1784—and thus it may well be that some of the human teeth implanted to improve his appearance, or used to manufacture his dentures, came from his own slaves.

Because the “History from a Christian Perspective” textbooks I was given as a child absolutely idolized the founding fathers and told charmingly quirky stories about cherry trees and wooden teeth.
